Bat and the Halloween Surprise is here! 🦇
I’m so excited to share my newest book, Bat and the Halloween Surprise, a fun, interactive Halloween story I wrote and illustrated for little ones ages 3–5.
I’ve wanted to write a book for this age group for a while. I drew inspiration from the things my daughters loved when they were little: marching, stories with repetition that helped them predict what would happen next, and finding characters hidden in the illustrations.
In this story, Bat and his friends are planning a Halloween bash, but they don’t know where to start! As they march off to find Hexy, the nice witch, Bat’s friends begin disappearing one by one. Where could they be?
The book is available in English and Spanish, in hardcover, paperback, and eBook formats. The Spanish title is Vampi y la sorpresa de Halloween. You can find both versions on Amazon or at www.decoloresforkids.com. Both eBooks are also included with a Kindle Unlimited subscription.
There’s a little story behind the skirt I’m wearing in this photo, too. My father gave me this skirt about ten years ago. Long before I started writing children’s books, I thought that if I ever published a book, I’d wear it to celebrate. This book felt like the perfect occasion, especially because I dedicated it to him. 🧡
